Exporting Your Case
When your case is complete, export your report as a Word document via email, share the body diagram, or download a quick PDF preview.
Export Options
Locarda offers three export options. To access them, tap the Export button in the workspace toolbar (top-right area).
Email Complete Report
This is the recommended export method. Locarda takes all your dictated sections and auto-fills them into your office's report template, then emails you the completed Word document (.docx).
Tap "Email Complete Report"
Select the first option in the export sheet.
Confirm your email
The report will be sent to the email address you signed up with. Verify it's correct.
Tap "Send"
The report generation begins. This typically takes 7 to 10 minutes. You'll see a progress indicator.
Check your email
Open the email from Locarda. The completed report is attached as a .docx file that you can edit in Microsoft Word.
Tip: The emailed report preserves your template's original formatting, headers, footers, and styles. You can make final edits in Word before filing.
Important: Reports are always sent to the email you registered with. If you need to change this email, update it in your profile settings before exporting.
Email Diagram Only
If you only need the annotated body diagram (without the full report), use this option.
Tap "Email Diagram Only"
Select the second option in the export sheet.
Review and send
The annotated body diagram pages are compiled into a PDF and emailed to you.
Share as PDF
For a quick local preview, you can generate a PDF directly on your iPad using Locarda's built-in template.
Tap "Share as PDF"
Select the third option in the export sheet.
Configure the export
Choose what to include: Diagram Only, Report Only, or Diagram + Report. Select which pages to include.
Preview and share
Review the PDF preview, then use the iPad share sheet to save to Files, AirDrop, print, or send via another app.
Custom Template Export
When you export via Email Complete Report, the behavior depends on which template you used for the case:
- Custom template: Your dictated content is placed into the exact sections of your uploaded template. Headers, footers, fonts, and formatting are all preserved from your original Word document.
- Locarda Default Template: Your content is placed into Locarda's standard report format with clean formatting and all standard autopsy sections.
Body Diagram in Export
The annotated body diagram can be included in your export in multiple ways:
- Email Complete Report: The body diagram is attached as a separate PDF alongside the Word document
- Email Diagram Only: Just the diagram pages as a PDF
- Share as PDF: Choose "Diagram + Report" to combine everything into a single PDF
Tip: You can export the same case multiple times. Each export generates a fresh document with your latest edits.
