Locarda LLC provides forensic documentation and reporting software for medical examiner and coroner offices. This page explains how users agree to receive SMS security codes from Locarda.
What we send#
One-time security codes for account sign-in, sent only to users who turn on SMS two-factor authentication. These messages contain no marketing and no case or patient information.
How users opt in#
SMS is optional and off by default. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
- A signed-in user opens Account Settings > Security.
- They turn on SMS two-factor authentication.
- They enter their mobile number and see the consent wording below.
- They select Send code. This is how they give consent.
- They enter the code they receive, which activates SMS two-factor authentication.
Consent wording shown to the user#
"By entering your number and selecting Send code, you agree to receive Locarda security codes by text at this number. Message frequency varies by sign-in. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. See our Terms and Privacy Policy."
Example messages#
Security code:
"Locarda: Your verification code is 123456. It expires in 10 minutes. Never share this code. Didn't request it? Email founders@locarda.com."
Opt-in confirmation:
"Locarda: Text message security codes are now on. Msg frequency varies by sign-in. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
Help reply:
"Locarda: Security codes for account sign-in. Help: founders@locarda.com. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."
How to opt out#
Reply STOP to any message, or turn off SMS two-factor authentication in Account Settings > Security. Reply HELP for help, or email founders@locarda.com.
Your information#
We use your mobile number only to send these codes. We do not sell your number or SMS consent, or share them with third parties for marketing; we share them only with service providers that deliver these messages. Message frequency varies by sign-in, and message and data rates may apply.
