Templates

Templates define how Locarda formats your dictation. Upload your office's report template so the AI matches your exact format, terminology, and section structure.

Upload a New Template

You can upload your office's DOCX or PDF autopsy report template. Locarda's AI will analyze it and learn your formatting style, section structure, and terminology.

1

Go to the Templates tab

Tap the Templates tab in the bottom navigation bar.

2

Tap "Upload Template"

Tap the Upload Template button at the top of the screen.

3

Select your template file

Choose your report template from Files, Google Drive, or OneDrive. Supported formats are .docx and .pdf.

4

Add example reports (optional)

You can attach one or more completed example reports. These help the AI learn your specific writing style and terminology.

5

Set state and county

Select the state and optionally the county for this template. This helps organize templates in your library.

6

Submit and wait

Tap Upload. The Locarda team will review and process your template, then notify you within 24 hours that it's ready. You'll also receive an in-app notification when processing is complete, so you can start using it right away.

Tip: The more example reports you provide, the better the AI will match your style. Two or three examples are ideal.

Reorder Sections

After your template is processed, you can reorder the sections to match your preferred workflow.

1

Open your template

In the Templates tab, tap on the template you want to edit.

2

Long-press and drag

Press and hold any section, then drag it up or down to change its position.

3

Release to save

Drop the section in its new position. The order is saved automatically.

Rules & Formatting

Each section in your template has configurable rules that control how the AI formats your dictation. This is where you fine-tune the output to match your exact style.

Keywords & Tags

Keywords define what content belongs in each section. The AI uses these to route your dictation to the correct section and ensure thorough coverage.

Custom Rules

Custom rules let you specify formatting preferences. For example:

  • "Always list injuries in bullet-point format"
  • "Use metric measurements followed by imperial in parentheses"
  • "Start the External Examination with a standard opening sentence"
  • "Include laterality (left/right) for all findings"

Examples

You can provide input/output examples showing the AI exactly how you want dictation transformed into formatted text for each section.

Quick Actions

Quick Actions are shortcuts that appear while you're working with a template. They let you quickly jump to common operations like editing rules, testing dictation on a section, or viewing the template text.

Tip: You can test your rules by using the Test Dictation feature on any section. Record a short dictation and see how the AI formats it with your current rules.

Delete a Template

If you no longer need a template, you can remove it from your library.

1

Go to the Templates tab

Navigate to the Templates tab.

2

Swipe left on the template

Swipe left on the template you want to delete to reveal the delete option.

3

Confirm deletion

Tap Delete and confirm. This action cannot be undone.

Warning: Deleting a template does not delete cases that were created with it. Those cases will continue to work normally.

Request Changes

If the AI isn't formatting a section the way you want, you can request changes directly from within the template editor.

1

Open the template section

Navigate to the template and tap the section you want to modify.

2

Tap "Request Change"

Use the chat interface to describe what you'd like changed. For example: "I want bullet points instead of paragraphs" or "Add standard weight measurements."

3

Review the update

The Locarda team will review your request and update the template. You'll be notified when the changes are applied.
